CIX900 Error Codes

This article describes error codes you could see on the CIX900 LCD display, along with a description of the error and possible fixes.

Card In ErrorCard did not move into the printer from the input hopper
  • Check the card thickness and adjust the card thickness control lever, if needed
  • Check if cards are stuck together because of static electricity (fan cards out to remove static and replace in hopper, if needed)
  • Clean hopper roller and cleaning roller 
2CardMove Int ErrCard did not move inside of the printer
  • Check if ribbon is stuck to card and remove card, if needed
  • Clean the rollers and cards if you notice debris/dirt on them
  • Check that card feeding rollers and sensors are operating properly
3CardMove Ext ErrFailed to move a card between printer and other module (flipper)
  • Check the rollers and cards for dirt and clean, if needed
  • Check the operating state of the card-feeding rollers and sensors
4Card Out ErrorFailed to discharge a card after printing, encoding
  • Check if ribbon is stuck to card and remove card, if needed
  • Check the rollers and cards for dirt and clean, if needed
  • Check the operating state of the card-feeding rollers and sensors
5TPH UpDown ErrorThe head up/down motor and sensor malfunctioned during print or boot up
  • Check the operating state of the head up/down motor and sensor
6IC UpDown Error The IC head up/down motor and sensor malfunctioned during print or boot up
  • Check the state of the cable between module and main board

Ribbon Seek ErrThe printer can’t search the ribbon panel while printing or booting up
  • Check the operating state of the ribbon motor
  • Check the operating state of the ribbon encoder sensor and gears
  • Check and clean the color in/out sensor 
8Ribbon Move ErrThe printer can’t wind the ribbon while printing or booting up
  • Check the operating state of the ribbon motor
  • Check the operating state of the ribbon encoder sensor and gears 
9MAG R/W ErrorFailed to read or write the magnetic stripe
  • Check the surface and direction of magnetic card 
  • Check the coercivity of magnetic card and encoding configuration 
  • Check the rollers, encoder and cards, and clean them if they are polluted
10MAG T1/2/3 Error Failed to read a track 1, 2, or 3 of the magnetic stripe
  • Check the surface and direction of magnetic card 
  • Check the coercivity of magnetic card and encoding configuration 
  • Check rollers, encoder and cards, and clean them if dirty
11Printing Error Error occurred while printing
  • Check if a card is jammed 
  • Ensure you are using only standard, recommended ribbon and cards
  • Check rollers and cards, and clean them if dirty

Flipper ErrorError occurred while operating a flipper 
  • Open flipper cover and remove the card
  • Ensure cards are the correct size
13Ribbon ZeroAll ribbons are used
  • Install a new ribbon
14RibbonNotFoundRibbon is not installed or not searched 
  • Install a ribbon, if needed
  • Ensure you are using the standard, recommended ribbon
15TPH Not FoundThermal printhead is not recognized or installed 
  • Check installation of printhead
16TPH Over HeatThermal printhead is overheated
  • Pause printing for 10 minutes and try again
  • Please create a case LINK
17Invalid DataError occurred when abnormal printing data was transmitted
  • Replace the USB cable
  • Swap USB ports on the PC
  • Reinstall the printer driver
18Wrong PasswordThe password is not correct 
  • Ensure you are typing the correct password and try again 
  • Please create a case LINK

SetCommandFailFailed to execute a command of the printer 
  • Replace the USB cable
  • Swap USB ports on the PC
  • Turn the printer off and back on again
20Spool FullPrinting data is full in the spooler
  • This message will disappear after printing all data
  • If the spool data is full without printing, turn the printer off and back on again to clear the error
